This wine is crafted from 100% estate-grown Albariño that is cultivated on our historic property located only 150 feet from the Portuguese border and 22 miles from the Atlantic Ocean.
Our winemaking method is based on enhancing the Albariño grape’s primary aromas together with the unique qualities of our “terroir”, resulting in harmonious white wines with good structure. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures in stainless steel vats; the wine is then kept on fine lees until bottling. Finally, tartaric stabilization and slight filtering are carried out, offering fresh and expressive wines.
This estate wine is crafted with grapes from our Monte Alto plot. This emblematic single vineyard is the highest and sunniest at Fillaboa and crowns the estate at a height of 150 meters, on a meander of the Miño River, fifty kilometers before it joins the Atlantic Ocean.
Selección Finca Monte Alto is crafted with grapes from our Monte Alto plot. This emblematic plot lies at 150 m above sea level on 6.7 Ha. of land. Only around 10,000 bottle are produced, depending on the vinta-ge. The vineyard is around 28 years old and the vines grow on a trellising structure, the soil has a sandy loam texture with a lot of pebbles due to its proximity to the Miño River.
