Situated in the south of the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet is renowned especially for its prestigious white wines. The grapes for this very charming wine are grown in the Kamptal region of Austria. Here, the Grüner Veltliner ripens in granite, gneiss, mica slate as well as loess soils. The northerly cool air streams from the rugged Waldviertel region and results in a significant day and night temperature difference. This in turn slows the ripening process of the grapes, and it is the diurnal effect of warm days and cool nights that makes wines from this region taste so fresh and fruity. The most beautiful kind of “Cool Climate Viticulture”.
The 2.0ha planting of Chenin Blanc is the oldest on the farm. Established in 1973, this single block is also one of the oldest in South Africa still used for vinification. Row and bunch selection of this single block make it possible to produce this Single Block Chenin Blanc. Situated in a cooler pocket of the farm with a southerly aspect and alongside a dam, the soils seldom require additional irrigation during the hot summer months. In special years the block is prone to a touch of carefully monitored Botrytis infection that promotes the production of high quality, intricately complex wine.
A Chardonnay with a Mediterranean soul, Chiarandà 2016 offers a complex bouquet with notes of fruit and aromatic herbs, combined with spicy and mineral scents. A complex and enveloping white, with a long and satisfying persistence and great aging potential.
Intense, vivid and bright straw yellow. After the initial vegetal sensations typical of Chardonnay, an intense note of fresh exotic fruits and yellow peach arises. The finish is captivating and floral with unexpected freshness favored by an elegant mineral structure
The bright yellow color suggests a nose with complex notes of yellow fleshed fruits, honey and gingerbread, as well as a buttery character. The palate is full, supple, balanced on refreshing and round notes, very long finish on mineral notes with an impressive balance. No feeling of alcool and can age well.
Rich, citrusy, and exquisitely balanced, this vintage of one of our Dutton Ranch single vineyard sites is textbook Russian River Valley Chardonnay. With a complex nose of lemon/lime zest, tangerine, and apricot, the Walker Hill Chardonnay evolves into apple blossom, Meyer lemon, and almond croissant in the mouth.
Established in january 1938, the Protected Designation of Origin Chablis is located nearby Auxerre, along the river with a predestined name "Le Serein". The continental climate, hot in summer, cold in winter, with strong frosts in spring - associated with a limestone and marly soil, makes the Chablis with a stunning quality. The rock contains deposits of tiny fossilised oyster shells. Regarding the Premier Cru, the particularity is that they are produced on either side of the Serein river (left bank and right bank). The most famous Climats are those on the right bank.
These vineyards cover the hilly slopes of Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-lès-Beaune. There are only four Premier Crus Pinot Noirs: “Les Fichots”, “En Caradeux”, “Creux de la Net”, “Iles des Hautes et Basses Vergelesses”.
