Since its first release in 1998, Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa has conquered the status of being one of the great Portuguese wines, having received top reviews in the national and international press over recent years. It is exclusively sourced from Vinha Maria Teresa, a small plot of centenary vines that inspired its name and which is one of the oldest at Quinta do Crasto. This vineyard plot is located at extremely low altitudes and enjoys excellent sun exposure. Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa is a super premium, single vineyard, Douro DOC red wine that is only bottled in exceptional years and always in strictly limited numbers. Taking advantage of the low yield of these old vines, the Quinta do Crasto winemaking team has managed to make a world class wine that is complex and full of character and that is capable of ageing in the bottle for years to come. Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa has only been produced in the following years: 1998, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015. 2007 witnessed the largest production, 8,001 bottles. For many wine lovers, Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa is one of the great Douro wines and one of the most emblematic. Having the chance to taste this wine is a veritable privilege.
Deep ruby in color. The nose is intense, with gum cistus aromas, fresh berry fruit notes and elegant hints of spice. Appealing on the palate, evolving into an engaging, serious wine, with firm, fine-textured tannins. The finish is fresh, long and lingering. This is a beautiful wine that expresses the essence of the unique terroir of the Vinha Maria Teresa.
