I'M Wines are made for Isabel Mondavi; they’re wines Isabel enjoys drinking most: rosé from Napa Valley, Chardonnay from Sonoma County, and Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley, Oregon (coming next year). It all started when Isabel asked her son, Rob, to make her some dry rosé like the ones which she found herself enjoying with her “lunch bunch” friends. She was thinking eight or ten cases to share with them, and serve at home…
Rob made 400 cases. So he named the wine after his mother (her initials) and went out and sold the rest to a few restaurants and wine shops. They liked it and asked, “What else does your Mom like?”
As it turns out, Sonoma Chardonnay and Oregon Pinot Noir. And so we have the rosé and the Chardonnay to offer, and will have some Pinot Noir upon its release next year.
The Chardonnay is rich and round but not too oaky or buttery. Makes you want to have a second glass…the crispness is refreshing.
