“Saturated, deep ruby-red. Flamboyant aromas of plum, strawberry, leather and dried flowers, with a pronounced roasted oak component. Then rich and chewy yet somehow suave in the mouth, with dark fruit flavors complicated by game, underbrush and minerals. Impressively dense, fat, large-scaled barbera with a mellow, very long finish featuring lush, silky tannins and considerable sweetness. Hardly your typical barbera, and that's not meant as a complaint! This is a joint project involving Coppo, Chiarlo, Vietti, Prunotto, Braida and Berta.
The 2001 Quorum has an incredibly dense prune bouquet, with hints of herb and dark berry fruit. This 100% Barbera wine is full-bodied, with notes of tobacco, liquorice, and black cherries. The finish is well structured and lush. There is a rich acidity, characteristic of Barbera wine, but the acid is balanced by the elegant, soft tannins. Excellent aging potential.
